"Different experience from the other reviewers"

We actually have had decent luck getting glides out of the shuttles in this kit. First couple of flights led to nose dives, but after a small amount of tail weight and making sure the elevons stayed up, we get actual glides. Certainly not competition level glides, but enough that the kids have fun chasing them all over the field. It's nice that a younger rocketeer can assemble it by themselves, also. (We also haven't experienced separation issues with any of the recommended engines.)

"Buy it for the nose cone only"

This one was a huge disappointment. The gliders disengaged fine, but then floated down like dead leaves instead of gliding, and nothing we tried could change the flight path. The cockpit nose cone can be used to clone an Estes Greyhawk, but that's the best I can do as far as a recommendation.

The concept of this rocket looks better than it actually performs. This rocket is easy to build. However, the shuttles only disengaged correctly if I was using a C engine. The shuttles break very easily. We had only a hand full of launches before the shuttles became unusable.

I'm waiting to get this kit as I'm thinking I will make the gliders from scratch with tubes and balsa
