Spotlight Review

The AK Interactive line of acrylic polymer surface primers is a cost effective and practical means to prime your models and figures. While enamel is quite durable, the cost of spray cans can be quite exhaustive on your wallet just as the product(s) are limited by the power of the propellant and quantity of paint contained within. As an airbrush [Badger, Patriot 105] user I have witnessed the potential of the product as it overcomes my own mediocre airbrushing skills. It is suitable to use straight from the bottle and requires no additional thinning. The primer does well to level out and dry with a smooth surface even when accidentally loaded on otherwise. One pitfall is that it can be chipped from the model during routine handling, but this problem is easily countered by always wearing disposable gloves. I would have rated the product 4-1/2 stars if possible, so I rounded to a full 5 as it was the closer option to my opinion. Happy modelling

"excellent product"
I found that this AK primer sprayed well out of my airbrush and leveled out very well.

"These Primers are Excellent"
I've used the black, white, red, rust, tracks and dark yellow primers. I've found that the tracks primer isn't necessary at all, for me. I haven't found an advantage. As for all of the other colors I've used, I highly recommend. The red or rust, and black are especially useful for certain modulations. These are the primers I prefer to use in almost any instance, for their excellent adhesion qualities as well as depth and detail enhancement.

"Great coverage primer"

I purchased this primer a few months ago from Hobbylinc after deciding to try the black basing approach to armor models. Instead of using a grey or white primer, you use black. This cuts back on having to pre-shade panel lines and shadow areas. Make is a lot faster to paint. Plus it give the base coat a deeper look. This primer works great with a little of the AK thinner. Airbrushes very smoothly and has a fast drying time. Make sure to shake or stir the bottle, since the pigments will settle over time.
