Long Bell Lumber Co. Skid Shack Kit

I built this kit (2 shacks) for a friend's Omaha Belt & Terminal model railroad. Because these lumber shacks are portable, they can appear just about anywhere on your layout where temporary lodgings would be found. The kit is an excellent prototype as you would expect from American Model Builders; however, it did have some pieces that did not fit right--thus the 4-star rating. The basic build was simple, but the door and widow openings were cut without regard for the space the threshold and window sills occupied. This required some jerry-rigging which was not particularly difficult. Additionally, the roof slots were spaced incorrectly which precipitated more special attention. All-in-all, I have a very good build and am happy with the outcome.
