"Excellent Model!!!"
This is one of the best models that I've built in a long time. There was no flash on the parts, instructions are excellent, and all parts went together perfectly. This is a great model to build!!!

"The decals are garbagr"
The color it's molded in is almost spot on petty blue so it's not necessary to paint it. It has some good detail. But the decals are absolute garbage. I'm not sure if they just threw some in the box from maybe the superbird petty kit ot what but they do not fit the roof correctly. They need to be a lot smaller to work

"Good model, bad instructions and decals"

I'll admit I'm a Richard Petty fan. I built 2 of his car models that were destroyed in my house fire. So I'm starting over. I bought this model, and some of the out of production kits on e-bay. This is the first kit I built, and I'm very disappointed. The kit itself is excellent. There was very little flash on the parts, and everything went together smoothly. But the instructions were a joke. You can tell that this was originally a Lindburg kit, as it uses their instructions. But instead of the clear drawings you get in an AMT kit, you get drawings that look like they were drawn by a child, as they are incomplete with broken lines and no details. On step 17 they tell you to add part 11 to the rear of the car, which is a license plate. On the decal instructions they don't show the rear of the car, but an aerie points to that area to place a decal. If you add part 11 you can't add the decal in that area. Also, every part is called out by letters on the paint chart, except for the inside parts of the wheels in step 18. There was no indication of the colors of the window trim and side molding, so I used Bare Metal Foil for these areas. When I went to add the decals it was clear that whoever made the decals never communicated with the company, as the scale is wrong on many of the decals. Some of the sponsor decals are too large, and the decals on the hood are too small. But the worst is the number decal for the roof. When I went to put it on it was so large if I had put it on like it is suppose to go it would have been over part of the front and back windows. The only way I could get it to fit without it covering the windows was to put it on an angle, which is wrong if you want the model to look like the real car. If I had to do this kit over again I would have bought aftermarket decals, and thrown the kit decals in the trash can. I am very disappointed with this kit, and if this is a example of their kits in the future I'll think twice about buying an AMT kit.

Due to small parts that could cause a choking hazard please kee away from children 3 years of age and younger.
