"An old but good kit"

If you're into 70s trucks this is one of the ones you'll want to pick up. The kit itself shows some age as it is a reissue kit. One drawback to the kit is that the rear half of the cab needs to be joined to the front half and would require work to cover up the joint as it goes through the middle of the cab. Otherwise the AMT trucks altogether are real cool, and look especially good if you've got some modelling skills

"Dawgs Freightliner stretch"

The last time I built this kit I was 11 or 12 years old but so many years later it was still the same build. With the exception that the parts were a lot harder to get off of the parts trees and a lot of excessive flashing I still don’t like the cab steps and the mirrors. I purchased two kits to do a simple cab and frame stretch but as all things go everything had a domino effect bigger motor witch required modifications witch would result in to a lot of other mods witch really made the build a real challenge I am no professional model builder by far but with a little patience and ingenuity this build turned out pretty good even turned the cab steps into something freightliner worthy these older kits maybe a pain but I have built some newer kits that are pretty sad

"nice older kit, the detail is not up to today's standards"

I have built these Freightliner models in all of the issues and re-issues. This latest issue is still a good model, but it is showing it's age. There is flash on the parts that needs to be trimmed and sanded. The rear of the cab fits well with patients and a few clamps while it dries. The most noticeable area on the model is the rivet detail it is a bit heavy. I gave the whole cab a light sanding to tone it down. The reason I only give it a good is because of the age of the molds. They are not up to today's standards, but it is still a nice built. I have 5 of these built and more planned.

"Tribute build"

Wife's Dad drove this Semi for years. Had many photos of him working on his truck for reference material. The Model is very accurate of the 1:1 truck. Take care in build up of multi part frame , and cab and you will have a sharp looking model. This is a model with no flash and minimal clean up. Looks good built box stock and realistic when wired, plumbed and weathered.A very good base kit if you are one who likes to show your work at model shows. A good model to fine tune your build and painting skills.
