This is a typical Bachmann product, i.e., good value with some pluses and minuses, plus this one has one particular issue. The Bachmann pluses include metal wheelsets and their EZ mate couplers which are almost as good as Kadees. The Bachmann typical minuses are overlarge detail parts and too-shiny finishes. This particular car has a small issue in that the hand rail that circles the car is bright metal, so it needs to be carefully hand painted to make it look right. On my car the screw holding one of the trucks on would not come out. This is atypical as I've not had this problem with other Bachmann cars. If you are considering this car be advised that it is modeled with K type brakes and is labeled with a build date of 1915. This makes it too early for me but had I known when I bought it I would have got it anyway because I liked it and needed an ink car for my printer industry.
