In the late 1800s and early 1900s several companies offered standardized homes that were marketed in catalogs. The Tower House Laser-Art kit from Branchline Trains is based on a catalog design from Palliser, Palliser & Co. of Bridgeport, Connecticut, which was shown in the 1878 edition. The six-room home was described as comfortable and convenient, and its tower afforded a view of the surrounding countryside. The unpainted model features laser-cut wood parts and complete instructions.

"What a lovely house."

This house was an addition to my housing section of my layout. I visualized it as the town doctors home as well as his office. It did remind me of my own doctor's house when I was a young child growing up. I actually painted it in the same color scheme that my doctor's home/office was back in the 60's. If you ever had or remember your home town doctor, (that used to make house calls) and was always the most pleasant place to go to, the this is the house for you.
