Sopwith Camel
Sopwith Camel
An oldie but a goodie...

In the '70s Revell released a trio of WWI fighters (Fokker DR.1, SPAD XIII and Sopwith Camel) in an oddball 1/28 scale that have been reboxed off and on since then, and remain popular for their price and accuracy of shape. They are well engineered considering their age, with decent fit, and have nice detailing that still looks good, but there may be some flash to clean up. Despite its age, the Camel kit can be built into a nice representative of the type, is fairly easy to build, and its size makes it easier to assemble than a 1/72 or 1/48 kit. When compared to newer WWI fighter releases in the more standard 1/32 scale, the old Revell kits still represent a good value, and an interesting kit to build. Several previous model builds will serve the modeler well.
