Tamiya pink primer gives you great results, especially for red top coat colors. Works wonders for covering colored factory plastic bodies. Easier to find flaws in the plastic bodies when you use primer. I always buff the plastic bodies with 8000 grit and wash with dish soap. Some of the newer plastic will fish eye in spots if you don't. I spray around 4 away from the bodies and move quickly across the surfaces. Once you master the distance and speed you can achieve excellent results. For years I didn't want to spend the extra money on primer. But after seeing the results that I was trying to achieve its well worth the money. Also if you make a mistake its almost always easier to strip the model where primer was used.
