In the past I had never been a fan of the Crayon rockets, probably due to overexposure, so when Estes announced a multi-colored RTF line of them, I all but ignored them. Then the opportunity arose to fly some rockets to entertain two young boys who were looking at a long afternoon at a wedding shower my wife was hosting, and I rethought my position on the Crayons. I was fairly short on rockets that would appeal to really young kids, so I picked up the yellow Crayon. The launch was rained out, but I was able to sneak off to my local field to fly a few long neglected birds the following weekend and took the Crayon along. I flew it on a B6-4 on notoriously tight B6-4 Field and was rewarded with a very impressive flight. The rocket has some faults, most notably the likely failure of the fin can/engine mount due to melting and the poorly thought out shock cord mount which will eventually break/burn through, but for a quick flight fix, these are credible rockets.
