Submarine Depot Ship Heianmaru

The ship goes together fairly well BUT the weapons have to have holes drilled into the deck to mount them. The vents are not well marked on the grid and can lead to confusion. The booms literally snap on to the mast. This can be a problem if the glue for the mast hasn't hardened. the front gun doesn't sit well as it is a after thought with this kit and the rear mount requires cutting the deck to fit it properly. these problems are annoying but not show stoppers. Unlike most of these kits this one has no metal weight. The kit took about 4 hours to build as I had to solve several of the a fore mentioned problems which were made worse by my fat fingers and these truly tiny parts so get some good grippy tweezers or parts are going to fly. The decks fit well as do the mast a modestly experienced modeler should have no issues. A bonus with this kit is a grid full of weapons and float planes for other 1/700 ships you have that need repairs.
