The price point is what pulled me in initially. Sub-$30 model with a full interior and engine is not something you see every day. I opened the kit, and saw the vast array of parts and sprues. 300 parts and five plastic sprues. 3 photo-etched sheets and one decal sheet. The parts are slide molded and have very little flash. Very few punchout marks, but some are placed in very visible spots (inside of engine covers). Decals are great and settle will with Microsol, but some so tiny they are illegible without a powerful magnifying glass (I’m not joking). Photoetch are nice, but some require a bending brake. I tried bending the rain gutters over the forward vision ports, but ruined two out of three. Plus, I didn’t really understand why they had the ten photoetch interior pieces because they are empty racks. An active unit entering combat is not going to have empty storage in their vehicle. Another knock – there are three options for the main gun with only ONE magazine. That’s it. So, you will have to dip into your spares box for that. The fit is okay on the entire model. The attachment of the wheels is difficult. The fit of the upper and lower hull has gaps. The fenders have weak attachments points. The main gun has so many parts which are tiny. I had a hard time interpreting the exact point to affix the various parts. Fitting everything together gave me so many fits, I had to glue everything in place – so the gun is fixed and can’t be moved. There are no figures in the kit. Too bad – Hobbyboss figures are actually nice. The interior is just wonderful and so detailed. It hurt to button it up to be hidden forever. Upside – the price is great. The interior is outstanding. The engine is detailed. The built model is beautiful. The downside - Not for beginners. Must be built in subassemblies (unless you completely button it up). Photoetch can be a bear. A lot of very delicate parts.
