Mates with all brands of magnetic couplers currently on the market. Easy, reliable, hands-off uncoupling anywhere on the layout with the use of the specially designed Switchman uncoupling tool, while retaining the advantages of remote magnetic operation. The Accumate coupler differs from other magnetic couplers on the market in that it uses the same integral springs to not only center the coupler, but also to keep it closed. The Accumate consists of two shank pieces that pivot around a common post (hook) which carries the knuckle profile, and the blade. When coupled, the hooks are sprung into engagement and the blades provide the buffing surface. An interlock between the hook and blade limit their motion relative to one another, and provide for a stable surface to be pushed against. Mild steel pins. The magnetic operating pins are designed to be a press fit mounting in the plastic knuckle. Couplers parts are molded from polyacetal engineering resin. Knuckle profile has no draft angle, which allows operation of long, heavy trains without the effects of "coupler rideup." Illustrated instructions on package.
