Great for dirt streaks effects
Great for weathering effects. It's kind of a dingy, green, grey color. I recommend using white spirit to control how much you put on what ever you're using it for. I personally used it on 1-72 Vehicles. Even after you dunk your model in it, and use white spirit to get most of it off, it still has a muted tone to it. I haven't had any issues painting over acrylics but I do make sure its cured first. No problems over enamels neither. This is one of the very good AK weathering tools. Recommended.
Great weathering product for my armor
I love WWII armor and I build every type of model I can. The weathering products from AK Interactive are excellent choices for model building. I've only gotten the very best results and no failures from them. Aging and weathering a plastic model so that it looks real and on the ground used is an art in itself and AK makes the learning curve easy. If I goof up, it only takes a little paint thinner to correct. For great results in weathering, try AK Streaking Grime, use it sparingly and have fun!
Good effect
This allows a convenient way to add dirt and grime streaks to your subject. I use it for areas of an aircraft that experience dirt streaks, i.e. Flaps, ailerons, etc. Use a brush to apply the streak, then use a clean brush slightly damped with odorless mineral spirits to feather the effect to your liking. Works very well and is much more convenient than mixing up an oil wash. Ensure you apply this to an acrylic surface
Excellent for adding shadow texture
I got turned onto this product from the Grimdark Compendium YouTube tutorials channel, and using this stuff the way he teaches it, in tandem with mineral spirits, can create beautifully textured details. It really is like magic.
AK Washes are great!
I used this to reproduce oil leak flows across the wings of an aircraft model with great results. Remember to only use enamel washes over acrylics and vice versa. Very good at recreating light oil leaks.
Not as good as it use to be
At one point this is what everyone claimed this stuff was the best thing ever. However the company has changed this product and it doesn’t look like it use to. Prefer oil paints over this.
Layout /Building supplies
Quick learning curve on application and final product is excellent!
Works
Works, but not as well as I had hoped. Maybe I need more practice.
