Peerless Logging Trailer

This kit definitely finished my logging truck build efforts paired with the AMT's Autocar A64B Semi Tractor. Some other nice build display pics shown in the gallery, but I preferred setting the trailer on the back of the tractor, as was done, in real life, after dumping the logs hauled in to the mill. A crane would lift the trailer, axles straddling the stakes on the front bunk and chassis neck of the trailer into the cradle on the headache rack. Then truck, trailer and driver headed back up into the woods for another load and that process was reversed to hitch up the trailer to the tractor to load more logs. No other securing was necessary to hold the trailer on the tractor. The process was quick and no time was wasted to get the job done. I did not glue the springs to the trunnion tube which allows the suspension to pivot, as it should, to allow this. The detail of the tractor parts provided by this kit plus the trailer itself was true and allowed the build to represent a truck from history. There are other larger and more sophisticated log truck and trailer combinations today that you see on the road, allowing the smaller sized logs to be hauled. But this trailer was the backbone of the log truck hauling history here in the PNW for many years.

I didnt have one issue with this kit,everything fit like it was supposed to and didnt take long to assemble

not a lot of model for the price. would recommend only if it completes a set or theme
