"Absolutely Lovely Hopper"

This hopper I bought two of to extend my train's length a little. Easily attaches and decouples without much human interference which to me is a big pro for model trains. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive way to lengthen up their freight train or just to begin a new train altogether.

I purchased this for a small layout before knowing what I would do on my layout. Pros: • Runs well • couplers at decent height Cons: • lighter than required by nmra I wish I knew how light it's was before I purchased this.

Just ordered my second one (different road number) It is light for NMRA standards but the load looks like nothing I recognize and useless to be re-purposed or used as anything else (even with paint)so you'll want to get rid of that right away. Then, when you buy a decent load to put in it, such as a casting coal load, it will be to NMRA specs or more likely slightly heavier. Or you can run it as an empty because the weights have rivet details on top so as to look like the car, not a car weight. A nice touch. Even being light when running empty you can run it nearer the rear of the train where weight is not as much of an issue.
