This is an HO Scale Auxiliary Water Tender (Norfolk & Western) from the Spectrum Series by Bachmann.
To increase the efficiency of its mainline trains, the N&W began the use of auxiliary water tenders in the early 1950's. This practice allowed the through trains to eliminate many of the en-route water stops that had previously been required.
