This kit has some beautiful, fine surface detail molded in, but I was concerned that much of that detail would be completely covered by primer and paint. I decided to keep my kit in the molded color, and to highlight the molded detail with a gunk-wash of undiluted oil paint. I think it came out rather well, considering the model is still the factory plastic color. Please keep in mind that Bandai's plastic reacts badly to white spirit-based paints like enamel washes, I recommend using either acrylic washes or undiluted oil paints for highlighting surface details.

This kit is large by this series standard The ship is molded in the right color there are no decals just build it. The parts are all snap together and fit very well. The instructions are all in japanese but the pictures will allow you to build it with little hassles. The only confusion I had was assembling the engine section when I didn't install a part and wondered why was there a hole in the ship I looked at the pics again and figured out where I went wrong no problem from that point on. great addition for those who want to build a Comet Empire fleet.
