The Sherman tank was the most widely used medium tank by the Western Allies in World War II. This is the M4A1(76)W HVSS Version - Upgraded with widetrack Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension (HVSS), fitted with the 76mm M1 gun.
The kit: The turret is very well done, with the option of open/close hatches which is always nice, with a very nicely done machine gun with parallel heat jacket at the rear of the barrel and separate spade grips. The hull, also very good, comes in two parts, most of the tools are molded in it (only the shovel comes separately). Also with hatches open or close.
The suspension, wheels and sprockets are really good. The tracks are made of styrene, and are short...you have to put them in hot water or with a hair dryer and carefully lengthen them. Decals for two versions explained in color in the box.
Overall a very high level of detail, not a kit for beginners as its a 1/72 model with lots of small parts (magnifying glass needed). Recommended.
