This is a fantastic rocket. Flying with a F50 gives a great flight. Very strong and sturdy rocket.

Great Rocket!

This is one big sturdy rocket. The only weakness is the tri-folded shock cord attachment. This came off one time, causing the rocket body to free-fall to the ground. However the rocket was so sturdy, there was incredibly almost no damage at all. A better shock cord attachment would be preferred. However this is otherwise an awesome rocket. A crowd pleaser to be sure!
Important: This is a common mistake I've seen people do - if you are new to these larger mid-power kits, BE SURE to use the correct launch pad and controller for this rocket. The standard Estes Porta-Pad II is NOT the correct launch pad. It is too light for this rocket, and can easily tip over and be dangerous. Use the proper mid-power launch pad recommended by Estes.

Great rocket for introduction to mid-power

This kit is on fire! It's an excellent way to step up from low power rockets into mid-power. Estes provides clear, step-by-step instructions that are very similar to their other rockets. If you are used to building Estes rockets, you will have no trouble with this one. The construction is very sturdy. The kit contains high-quality plywood fins, strong tubing and nose cone, as well as motor retention. The kit uses a nylon parachute which can stand up to high temperatures better than plastic.
I've launched this kit with F26, G40, and G80 motors, and it flies great every time. Flights are straight and impressive. It always draws lots of questions and oohs and aahs from those watching.

Nice easy-build rocket

** Very straight forward instuctions.
** Simple construction, suitable for your first G project.
With a G80-7 in the tail, this thing will get up and move!
One flaw: The ply fins were warped (not flat).
