These are useful for holding parts to paint or do a small assembly. They work well for my use.

"Yup."

Having a spare hand to hold something for you, especially when your hands shake. Is it a good investment. Yup.

"Not bad, not great."

Not a bad tool, but far from perfect. The tweezers are long and look pretty 'heavy duty', but the tension is kind of weak, especially for holding larger, heavier assemblies. Example: trying to hold a 1:72 scale Bf-109 by the rudder, I had to add a small clamp to the tweezers to hold the plane securely enough to work on it.

If your modeling or rocket building ever leaves you wishing for a third hand while glue or CA sets up or you want to use an accelerator spray, this will often do the trick. Once adjusted, it holds position quite well. It isn't attached to an anvil, but it is plenty heavy for light modeling tasks. The tweezers hold well, but won't smash the balsa fin or tube that you are adding.
