good detail
By: snod
This kit has a lot of options and great detail. It has a open or closed bomb bay with 500lb, 250lb bombs, fairy fuel tank or a torpedo. I chose to close mine. But I did make a display stand and set the torpedo on it. Rockets to go under the wings. Three markings and two different paint options. I went with one that did not match the markings. I went with the three color option that I like. (sea blue-intermediate blue-white)Then I chose the VT-8 squadron. The wings can be folded or extended. If you fold the wings they have nice interior of the wing. Pro's: Great detail of cockpit and crew apartment. Radios and other gear on the inside. A lot of detail of the engine and behind the engine all the way to the fire wall. If you remove the engine cowlings you can display all of that. Other wise it is all hidden. A colored marking and painting guide sheet is included. Crew hatch can be left open to help show some of the interior detail. The wings snap on to the fuselage with the help of wing spares that come out of it. They fit snug up against the sides. I left them off till the very end. I really loved this method. Wish all kits came with this. Made painting easier. Decals went on nicely. Hard to see all the ones on the sea blue. So if you chose this color lighten it a little to help show the decal. The pacific sun most likely faded them some anyway. A 14 page instruction book. CON'S: I added radio wire between the tail and antenna above the cockpit. The antenna is glued in place with no hole to sit in. So I kept braking this off. Make this the last thing you do. Too much detail is covered up inside. I would have liked to seen a decal for the instrument panel for the cockpit. But if you can paint all of this in you will have no trouble. I would recommend this kit for a experienced builder. If you have a imagination, a better reference book and scratch building skills. This kit will go a long way. ENJOY
