Regal Line Diesel EMD SD40T-2 ''Tunnel Motor'' Powered - Assembled, DCC Ready -- Denver & Rio Grande Western (black, Grande Gold) - N-Scale

When Southern Pacific and the Denver & Rio Grande Western had trouble with diesels overheating in long tunnels the solution was the unique Tunnel Motor. Easily identified by the large, low radiator air intakes on the rear of the long hood, these unique units became trademarks of the SP and DRGW.
Recent mergers and sell-offs have sent some of these units to new owners.
Ready-to-run Tunnel Motors come in both SD40T-2 and SD45T-2 models with either standard or long "Snoot" short hoods as appropriate. Other features include blackened, etched-metal details; a reliable, proven, DCC-ready mechanism; LED lighting; two different fuel tanks; and razor-sharp paint and lettering.
