Very good DUKW for starters & advanced modelers
This DUKW is a very good kit. Very good level of detail, decent decals, easy to assemble, in fact it comes with few parts, so, you can build it very fast. It comes with some pluses: it has a wargamer version, specially a robust version of the wheels for that version. It also has a spare wheel and the ropes at the front and at the back, are nice additions also. Cons: it doesn't have any clear plastic, so, for the windows in the wind shield, you should make it with acetate or similar; another thing is that both sets of wheels are hollow. Also no canvas cover for the cargo compartment.
Nice kit with patients.
If you take your time, this kit will turn out very nicely. You need to take your time with the rope bumpers and other small parts. Although I made it out-of-the-box for a friend, I got another one I will build and super-detail for myself. The kit is large enough in 1/72 scale to lend itself to extra detailing with either scratch-built or after-market detail parts.
