1/30 San Juan Galeon XVIth Century Wood Ship Kit

Im 4 planks away from completing the hull of the San Fransico II by the same company. I purchased the San Juan because it was so much like the San Fransico II being both are Spanish Galeon XVIth Century. First off this is the 4th Artesania Latina model I have purchased from Hobbylinc.com. Im impressed with the packaging, every thing is shrink wrapped and taped down, you might find this to be a pain opening but its better then every thing helter skelter in the box like a lot of models I have bought. Compared to the San Fransico II even though this model is about 30 cheaper the San Jaun appears to be a better model. At first look this is what Ive come up with. The canons with the San Fransico are cast metal the one with this model are turned brass, this kit is double plank on bulkhead were as the San Fransico is single plank on bulkhead much harder to work with the thicker planks, also there seems to be just a little more detail then the San Fransico , a false deck is under the main deck so when you look down the hatch on the main deck you see a deck below planked, no such thing on the San Fransico. The big difference so far that I can see why the San Fransico cost more is the sails are already sewed and are silk and very nice, were as the San Juan just comes with that burlap type of material for the sails for you to sew. Dont get me wrong the San Fransico is a great model that I'm having a kick building, but I wished I would have built this model first because of the double planking is so much easier, and the plans seem to be a little better.
