Great addition to my small layout. Also looks great on train set around Christmas tree.

We love this rocket!
By djstallard October 26, 2013
My son - along with five other kids in my model rocketry club - fly the LOC IV. What a workhorse. The LOC IV is easy to assemble, incredibly durable, and flies like a champ. This is our go to rocket for kids who want to get N.A.R. junior level one certified.

Great detail

The details are amazing for something so tiny. Preiser's quality is excellent.

Love these E motors
By jayorr March 3, 2014
If a C motor is good, a D is better. If a D is good, E must be the best (see my Viper review...). Fits in any D powered rocket and twice as much fun, just leave out the motor block. I fly a lot of these, and love em!

Solid kit at a fantastic price
By scott February 16, 2014
I've used these (and the X-13) kits from SureFire multiple times now as a Merit Badge Counselor for Space Exploration (and just ordered another 24!). White glue and a sharp blade (for cutting fins out of the balsa stock) are just about all you need once you print the instructions. The build instructions are easy enough for younger (age 11) kids to follow on their own or with very little supervision. During one Merit Badge Clinic, we built this and another kit in parallel in about an hour, interleaved with some instruction and discussion, and completed two flights for each Scout (16 total) in the remaining 2 hours, including all the multi-pad launch setup and tear-down. Unlike some other, more expensive ready-to-fly kits that fell apart or couldn't be flown again after their inaugural flight, these work well. The streamer option is great for windy areas or small fields. There is a parachute-based kit (SFR710187) available from HobbyLinc, but unless you know they'll be landing on tarmac or pavement repeatedly, the streamer option really is good enough for most use cases.

Missing Parts
By pettengillray June 27, 2014
I'm not a model builder normally, but decided to build one with my son. He purchased a Monogram and I bought an AMT 57' Belair. Poor instructions. Started painting body outside and undercarriage. Then realized only 1/2 an engine and no engine fan in box. Had to spend my gas money going back to the store. Bought a Revell and what a difference in the instructions, etc. I will not buy an AMT model again.

Nice kit, but showing its age
By cofrbooboo June 8, 2014
This is a nice model of the A-10 Warthog but is definitely showing its age. Revell released this kit in 1986, and it shows in the raised panel lines. Very fine detail, but old school technology. The molds are starting to show their age as well, with flash, oversized ejector pin marks, and a raised lip at the edges of parts that is impossible to remove without also removing detail. There are also some fit issues that require more than just average modeling skill. The worst area is the fit of the wings to the fuselage, where careful trimming and fitting is required to achieve the proper alignment. This has been a problem area since the kit was first released. Other areas will require the use of a good seam filler, again with the subsequent loss of detail. The kit weapons are okay but I would recommend the use of aftermarket weapons for best results. Even with all the issues this still turns out a nice representation of the A-10 as it appeared in the years prior to Desert Storm.

stunning finished
By debbie.bwl May 18, 2014
The painting is time consuming everyone who has seen it loves it and wants it. The finished product is absolutely fantastic a must once you have done a few.
