![]() | 1/72 PB4Y-1 Liberator US Navy Anti Sub Patrol Other items from Minicraft Models The Armys success with the Consolidated B-24 Liberator bomber led the U.S. Navy to acquire the big plane for long ranging patrol missions. The crews of the planes searched the vast oceans for any telltale wakes from enemy submarines or surface vessels, and were well equipped to attack these prey. Due to their dull gray and white color, known as the Sea Search scheme, the big bombers were hard to detect and often were a complete surprise to an unwary target. Clear windows and gun turrets, a decal instrument panel, official U.S. Navy markings and directions for creating the unique Sea Search paint scheme will be found in this kit. The four engines are well detailed and the propellers revolve. Also, bomb bays can be assembled open or closed and the lower gun turret is retractable. |
