"Be prepared for the Creature!"

Moebius models has done much to reinvigorate figure model building. Their homage to the Universal monsters, and the Aurora kits of them, clearly shows their dedication to an overlooked population of model builders. The Creature from the Black Lagoon, is another good example, but be prepared to use your model building skills. While the Creature is meticulously detailed, the surface texture diminishes greatly at the seams. This will make for a lot of seam work. Also, the hindquarters and inner thighs are conspicuously free of surface detail. Granted, the model is not made to be seen from behind, but this incompleteness is baffling. What you do on the seams, you'll have to do here. As a finished piece, the model is excellent, but rating it as a kit, it's only good.

"From the Black Lagoon, the Creature"

I grew up watching the classic Universal horror movies on late nights in the '60s. The Creature series was the last of the bunch and actually released about the time I was born. I have a couple of friends who the Creature is their favorite monster. I liked it but it was not my favorite. The only generally available kit of the Creature was the original Aurora or repops which were decent but hardly great. Then Moebius release this fantastic kit. I picked one up immediately and threw it on the bench. It really does capture a great scene and as with all Moebius kits was an excellent build. Having the female really added to the kit and the scene. So if you need to get your Creature fix this is definitely the kit for you, highly recommended.
