Features This handsome model is based on the white church in Grafton, Vermont. Grafton's Baptist citizens built the structure in 1858, directly across from the brick church built by the Congregationalists in 1833. By 1920, neither congregation was large enough or had money to continue on its own. As a solution, they formed the Federated Church of Grafton; this allowed the church to operate with one minister, who held services for six months of the year in each building. Today, the white church is used in winter and the brick church, which does not have central heating, is used in summer. The white church is also the scene of many picturesque weddings. The sound qualities of the structure are excellent and many concerts are held there as well.
The kit consists of laser cut plywood and basswood, diamond shaped peel-n-stick slate roofing, a cast Hydrocal plaster stone foundation, and resin stairs. Simple tab and slot construction makes for easy assembly, and the kit is complete with detailed instructions featuring numerous exploded view drawings. Related Items
