Reviews : Revell-Monogram Ford Ranger Pickup

I have always had and have tremendous respect for Revell. I think their models are above most without costing you a ton. This is a good example of that. plus, the nice thing is that you have to think and plan out what you are doing to do and how you are going to do it. Especially when it comes to the undercarriage. Many uppers will be exposed through the frame bottom, so you have to plan according (or have naked plastic exposed). The other problem is the half firewall that leaves such a huge gap you can see into the interior tub! However, the details are really cool. The engine is perfect, and the engine well is decorated enough to look great. But this model screams for details out of your parts box. I REALLY liked the results and I would highly recommend this kit. The price alone begs purchase!

I love this truck it is a great addition to my truck dioramas and garages I love building trucks and this one definitely has a lot of different ways you could build it and that’s the beauty of this truck you can chose to lift it lower it keep it stock height or what ever else you can imagine I definitely am going to put another one in our stash and you can not complain about the price on this truck Pros: easy on the wallet, Very detailed, nicely casted, lots of possibilities, great for dioramas CONS: minimal flash if you are thinking of picking up this kit then do it it is a lot of fun to build this kit and you will have a lot of fun with it and it will look good for dioramas or whatever you want to make it for

Detail on chassis isn't too good gas tank exhaust I'll part of the frame battery master cylinder all molded in one piece under the hood added some door windows cut the rear sliding window homemade suspension lift some BF Goodrich all-terrain radials 31-10 50 15 .. a front tow chain with Crunch bar plug wires heater hose alternator wiring a little tip sand the sides of the tailgate it's a tight fit After Paint it's really tight be careful at the tailgate really small pens put some chains on the tailgate to hold it up all in all nice model another nice kit from revell

I built this one mostly out of the box. I added a rear hitch as I plan on having it tow a drag car. It goes together pretty well. The only issue I recall having was a slight warp in the frame that made the body sit slightly off. I should have test fitted it. I used some styrene strips as shims to level it out. I was also missing one of the exhaust headers. I trimmed up the oil pan so the engine sat a bit more level. It's a good kit and I'd recommend it. There's a lot of opportunity for customization.

I had a ford like this a few year's back. so when I saw this one at this price I took a chance on it. not disappointed at all. kit has nice detail and the movable tail gate is a nice touch. detail on the under carriage show's off the 4x4 drive well and fit seem's to be good. no flash on the kit I got. part's look sharp and well molded. over all a good truck kit.

Awsome kit to me the revell kit is still the best ex;the wheels turns i remember that some kit the wheel was just in the pin you had to glue it in place instructions of this kit fairly easy to understand and the decals was just fun to put on.I would certainly recommend this for anyone there just fun to build.

Another great truck kit from Revell. Everything goes together as it should, and fits well. This kit lends itself to all kind of customization and detail. I’ll do this one again as well as all the truck kits from Revell!

I wasn't very impressed with this one. It builds up more like a toy than a display piece. Not a whole lot of detail. Very little options. The decals aren't very easy to work with either

Fun and easy build. The decals are very brittle and rear fender decals don't form exactly to the bed so you have to make some relief cuts. Good representation to exact vehicle.

Good detail all around only had issues with the front bumper. Also they could have used a bigger engine than the 302. Mine ended up with 351 Windsor.

I would recommend this kit. Lots of potential. Expect some flash, but that usually is how modeling goes. Enjoy
