Most Helpful Reviews Extensive interior makes this an unusually interesting kit

Single-engine, single-seat fighters in 1/48 scale tend to be pretty simple affairs -- two fuselage halves trap a little cockpit covered by a clear canopy. This P-39 kit is an exception -- the unusual mid-fuselage engine design made for a much more interesting kit -- the three-gun nose armament is thoroughly modeled and exposable with hatches.
Likewise the cockpit is unusually detailed and extra-exposed by the unusual car door pilot hatch.
If the plane is displayed on the ground, the nose armament, the cockpit and the engine can all be displayed readily.
There are decals for both US and Soviet versions (we gave many to Russia as part of Lend-Lease) and it is a satisfying kit to build.
