"Good kit"

This was a fun build overall. The instructions were pretty clear. The cabin has some pretty good details along with a nice pilot figure. One of the decals is from the show MASH which most people would probably associate this helicopter with. There were some fit issues with the cabin pieces, but the biggest issue was the tail. The pieces had warped in the box and took forever to line up right. All in all a good kit. I would recommend this to a modeler with a little more experience due to the fit issues.

My kids got this model for me for Christmas, and while I wouldn't have bought it on my own, I'm glad they got it for us. There are four variants that can be built, and we selected the MASH variant just like the photo. I used brush on paint instead of spray on paint for the Olive Drab due to the minimal surface area to be painted, and the finish is great from more than 6 away. It took about six weeks to put this together due to the number of parts and the quantity of colors required. PROS: The model looks great painted and hanging from the ceiling despite my poor painting skills. CONS: The model warped (my kids didn't purchase it from Hobbylinc) at some point so the tail assembly is not straight; and it was very difficult to mount the main rotor. I eventually got it, but it took a few tries. Did I mention the main rotor was difficult to get installed? OVERALL: Give this model a shot - it is a fun build, looks cool, and if you go with the MASH variant you'll be humming the theme song (if you're old enough to know it) the entire time.
