The Eurofighter is being developed jointly by Britain, Germany, Italy, and Spain to be the standard fighter and ground attack aircraft of these nations starting in the next century. In service the aircraft will likely replace the Jaguar and swing wing Tornado both of which were multi-national projects. The single seat version of the EF-2000 (now known as the Typhoon) is specifically designed to be able to outfly and outmaneuver possible adversaries such as the MiG-29 and Sukhoi Su-27.
