Description This is a 1/144 Airbus A340 "Air Canada" Plastic Model Kit from Revell. Skill Level 4 is a kit with up to 150 parts for more experienced modellers.
Facts The A340 is the first four engined aircraft to be built by Airbus Industries. It is designed to compete directly with the Boeing 747 on long haul passenger routes. The A340 features digital fly-by-wire flight controls and a state of the art "glass cockpit". The A340 also has a very advanced structural design and makes extensive use of carbon fibre composite materials especially in the tail. These features, along with the high bypass ratio CFM56 engines give the A340 very long range. In fact, during flight tests, the aircraft demonstrated an unrefueled range capability of nearly 7700 miles. The largest North American user of the A340 is Air Canada for whom it flies the Frankfurt Calgary route.

113 parts in white and clear with recessed panel lines Detailed landing gear struts, wheel wells, wheels and brake assemblies Engine pods feature compressor and turbine discs Clear windshield - NOTE: the passenger cabin windows are punched out of the fuselage leaving a hole for each window. But, no clear parts are included for these windows! There are therefore three options for dealing with the windows when assembling the kit: 1/ leave them as is - not very realistic; 2/ fill in the windows w/ putty and use aftermarket window decals; 3/ use a liquid window material such as Micro Krystal Kleer which forms a thin clear film in the window opening.
