Thickly textured mix with real twigs is very appropriate for forest floor
This is a fantastic mix because it contains all kinds of forest groundwork elements in various sizes. From what I can tell it's made of coarse/fine foam turf (light, dark, and moss green), static grass (short 2mm fibers green and brown), some green and darker green SuperTurf, and plenty of real wood twigs in varying sizes along with dark brown rubber wood bits (they appear to be molded from real wood castings). I also find that it has appeal in larger scales, even for action figure scenes, what-with the large twigs and bits. Now considering how rather chunky and uneven the mix is, it does take more glue to secure it in place. For this mix I usually put down a layer of glue, dump this on, allow that to dry, and then add more to the layer followed by heavy dousing of diluted matte medium. A layer of this where appropriate definitely does up the groundwork in short satisfactory order.
Realistic looking basefor forest scenes
Just apply a thin layer to freshly painted hard shell then some scenic cement to hold it down. Then build up with shrubs, bushes and trees to have a great looking forest scene.Contains a lot of foam so a thick layer will require a lot of scenic cement to get it to stay down.
