Blackstone Models(TM) Steam DRGW K-27 w/Inboard Valves - Powered w/DCC & Sound -- #461 Flying Rio Grande, Raod Pilot - HOn3-Scale |
|
Features One of the best known narrow gauge steam locos, the K-27 (originally Class 125) "Mudhens" were first delivered to the Denver & Rio Grande Western in 1903. With a tractive effort of over 27,000 pounds, these were some of the biggest and most powerful locos on the narrow gauge. All 15 (#450-464) were delivered with Vauclain compound cylinders, which were later replaced with single expansion cylinders and slide valves due to high maintenance costs. In later years, 11 engines were refitted with modern piston valve cylinders, which are the prototype for this model.
Affordably priced, these authentic HOn3 replicas feature period paint schemes and prototype-specific details. Engines are available with a SoundTraxx(TM) Tsunami(TM) digital sound decoder, which provides authentic sound for DCC or DC operations. Related Items
