Tamiya X-10 Gunmetall Acrylic Paint
By: mooniemac2000
As you may know, the true gun metal is actually a bronze alloy, but the U.S. eventually started making guns out of steel. Anyway, the gun metal we see here is a dark grey color that is kind of a cross between dark silver and dark steel. This color is like this to represent the gun you see on aircraft and other vehicles. This paint can also be used to color wheels/ engines. This product is great when trying to achieve the finish of metal on many vehicle parts, as you can see, so it's kind of an alloy of its own; it has many purposes.

Beautiful (But I Was Expecting A Bit More)

The gunmetal finish looks beautiful. It's metallic and dark-grey-ish, but it won't make the part look like metal. My results looked like it belonged more on a car than anything else. Perhaps it was the thinning ratio (deafult Tamiya 2:1), because apparently some people got that gritty gunmetal look.
Either way I'll still recommend this, because my results still looked beautiful (just different and less metallic than I expected).
Loved it.

I used this to paint the small details and pipes for my model car. When applied this paint looks great! Helpful tip: Shake up the paint well before painting to ensure a good shimmer on your model. Check the bottle of the bottom to make sure the glitter is not stuck at the bottom.
Best model paint by far

Tamiya makes the hobby paint on the planet. Its so easy to work with. The coverage is awesome. At first, coming from Testors, I was hesitant because Testors is so thin and barely covers. Once I used it, it was a game changer. I will be switching all my paints to Tamiya.
Great paint that changes shades
Depending on your light level the color of this paint tends to shift. In normal light it looks like cast iron but if you use flash photography the extra light of the flash actually turns it into a dark grey color.

Has a grey, metallic look to it. Very good if you want to match with candy coated colors. Works well hand brushed.
