Description This is a 1/48 Scale Diorama Kit of the UFO Crash Scene in Roswell, New Mexico. It's a skill level 3 model for advanced modelers ages 8 and up.
Facts On July 4, 1947, at approximately 11:29 p.m., a winged, biomemnetic alien reconnaissance spacecraft was struck by lightning during a summer thunderstorm and subsequently crashed on private ranch land co-owned by both Jason Ridgeway and Judd McKnight, 32 miles north of the city limits of Roswell, New Mexico. It had embedded itself like a dart in the upper slope of an arroyo on their sheep ranch. This is a 1/48 scale version of that historic crash scene, which is based on drawings forensically composited by William Louis McDonald, from interviews with witnesses and from the case files of authors Captain Kevin D. Randle, USAF Reserve, and Donald R. Schmitt.
Features Kit contains multiple unassembled plastic and resin parts, some very small.
Includes human figures discovering the wreck and several deceased aliens within the cut open ship. Wrecked ship is mangled and beaten up, lodged in the crevice of an arroyo. Arroyo is very detailed with small and large pebbles and rocks; it is highly realistic and refined. Instructions to the diorama reveal an extremely detailed history of the Roswell story, including all the major players involved, both past and present. Also included is a technological viewpoint of the wrecked aircraft and a description of the aliens on board. The real-life aircraft had a wingspan of 25 feet and a length of 28 feet.
