Features Alco Power for 1960s and Later Railroads
Distinctive Atlas Trainman Alco RS32/36 diesels are perfect for your post-1960s layout. The 2,000hp RS-32 was intended to compete with EMD's GP20 and GE's U25B locomotives. The 1,800hp RS-36 was produced concurrently and featured an almost identical exterior appearance. Only 35 RS-32 and 40 RS-36 units were produced between 1961 and 1963. A handful are still in service in 2007. These models have a smooth-running mechanism and feature a powerful motor with dual flywheels and an NMRA 8-pin socket for easy conversion to DCC with the decoder of your choice (sold separately). Details include separately applied handrails, starter dimples for adding grab irons (sold separately), directional lighting and Accumate® knuckle couplers.
