Features An Important Fixture on Fast Freights from the 40s to the 70s
Built to move meat from packinghouses to big cities, these all-steel reefers were some of the most colorful cars on the rails. Unlike produce reefers, they were fitted with hooks and overhead rails that matched those used in slaughterhouses and processing plants to speed loading and unloading. Operated by both railroads and private owners, they were in service from the late 1940s to the 1970s. Now available completely assembled and ready for service, they'll look great behind late steam or first and second generation diesel power.
