  • 3-PIECE SETS WITH ACCESSORIES Includes Interlocking Tower with Upstairs Light, Speeder Shed with Unpowered Speeder Replica and Crossing Shanty with Positionable Crossing Gate.
  • INTERLOCKING TOWERS - YOUR RAILROAD NERVE CENTER Return to a magical place and time with our new Interlocking Tower. Outside, there's a detailed staircase, along with three different styles of siding that look like they were nailed here one board at a time. Check out the upper floor, with its many windows to showcase the basic interior (or your own custom installation). There's also a working light so the important work of the tower can continue through the night. You'll need one at every junction, coach or freight yard - anywhere there are lots of tracks and plenty of trains running on your railroad!
  • Inside an Interlocking Tower, you had your hands on the pulse of the railroad. At the heart of the tower, tarnished levers rose out of the floor. Here was the mighty interlocking plant, with its mechanical linkage and rods that moved switches and set signals a mile up the track in every direction.
  • Around the clock, operators copied orders from the dispatcher, handed them up to crews, set signals to protect track routes and inspected every train that passed. In the heart of the city or a remote country crossing, these were some of the busiest places on any railroad.
  • SPEEDER SHED & SPEEDER FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT JOBS ON YOUR RAILROAD Locomotives, freight cars, passengers cars - sure they're important to running a railroad. But without good track, they won't run at all! The day starts early here in the Speeder Shed, the most important building on the line. Located about every 10 miles along the tracks, these tiny buildings usually stood in the shadows of the interlocking tower or by the depot in small towns. They served as office, materials warehouse and storeroom for the crew who repaired and inspected the tracks. Ready for a good days work, this model features open doors and a platform section to display a nonpowered replica of a Speeder. The models are so realistic, youll swear you can smell gas and oil!
  • The sky is just beginning to glow on this summer morning. But the speeder has already been pushed out on the tracks. One of the section gang nods a good-morning while he refuels the Speeder.
  • Inside, the foreman and the gang inspect tools and load spikes, bolts, ties and more on the trailer. Gather round, the foreman calls. All trains will slow to five mph while we work at Valley Siding, but the dispatcher wants us off his railroad by 10:30. There's a broken rail on the siding in Centerville. In between jobs, well check every rail, fishplate, spike, tie and bolt on our 10-mile-long section of the line.
  • CROSSING SHANTY TO PROTECT BUSY ROADS ON YOUR LINE Built to be functional not fancy, Crossing Shanties once protected every busy highway crossing in town. These tiny buildings served as shelter, equipment shed and storeroom for the watchmen. And since they were highly visible to the traveling public, they were well-kept. Only a few square feet inside and out, it's a perfect trackside detail. And, it comes with a positionable gate to stop oncoming traffic. This nifty little building is a perfect addition anywhere roads and rails cross along your railroad.
  • Look both ways, then cross the street to spend some time with the guard at the Crossing Shanty. He calls it the busiest spot on the railroad - and after 10 minutes you agree. Your senses are hammered by the constant ringing of engine bells and the beat-beat-beat of exhaust.
  • Hidden in the swirling coal smoke and dust, one man controls the destiny of every train. For in addition to being a major artery of the railroad, this small strip of land is also where you'll find the city's busiest streets. Everyone who passes must do so safely. And to make sure it happens, a crossing watchman is stationed here around the clock. No mighty castle or fortress guards this important route. Blink and you might miss the tiny building by the tracks, yet it is as important as any the railroad owns.
