TRACKSIDE BUILDING THAT SAYS "RAILROAD" Used alongside other buildings or by itself, this building says "railroad" in any layout, module or diorama scene. Typical of the designs used by American railroads large and small from the 1880s to the 1970s, it fits any location and era. And, it's assembled from plastic parts with light colored walls and dark trim, typical of the paint schemes real railroads used on their buildings. Easy to add to any layout, it can be used as-is, or quickly and easily weathered to blend with the surrounding scenery.
Perfect for main, branch, shortline or industrial roads, you can use several to make your entire line more realistic.
Built to be functional not fancy, Crossing Shanties once protected every busy highway crossing in town, and were also found at the more dangerous crossings in rural areas too. These tiny buildings served as shelter, equipment shed and storeroom for the watchmen. And since they were highly visible to the traveling public, they were well-kept. Only a few square feet inside and out, it's a perfect trackside detail. It comes fully assembled, with a pair of positionable gates to stop oncoming traffic, and six utility poles to complete the scene.
