- In the steam-era, every loco had to be turned for its next run. While large turntables over 120' long could handle the huge mainline steam engines like 2-8-8-2s, 4-6-6-4s and 4-8-8-4s, most terminals catered only to smaller locos like 4-6-2s, 2-8-0s and 2-8-2s. For these facilities, a 90' turntable was sufficient.
- The Built-up 90' Turntable fills the bill for secondary and branch line terminals where smaller engines are serviced. This detailed, layout-ready model has all the features of the larger Modern 130' Turntable including full indexing with 60 programmable positions.
- Because of their size, many of these smaller turntables are still used to turn diesels, so this model will look at home on your steam- or diesel-era layout.
