while these may not be for the modeler looking for visually accurate or detailed part, it is great for low end cars and locomotives for kids. They remain connected even in some violent crashes(I actually enjoyed watching my inexpensive trains fly off the tracks, I was in my early teens or so when I stopped). I remember having to shake them apart when I was a kid.

These are good replacement couplers but they have too short of return spring on some cars and locomotives.

They are ok for the most part, tend to uncouple here and there.
