One might think a craft saw in this price range would be lacking. One might be wrong.
I don't exactly abuse my tools, but they don't always get put away at night, and I've even been known to accidentally lay things atop them on my cluttered bench. The result is that some less well-made tools will suffer the slings and arrows of my neglect. The ferrule, and even the handle, will often come loose. But I've used this saw extensively, and I'm very happy with it. Nothing's ever come loose, or felt sloppy.
It's stayed sharp through repeated uses. I've cut shell and bone with it, even though I have other saws for that. So recently I ordered a second one... not because there was anything wrong with this one, but just because I reach for it so often.
I cut guitar fret slots with it, using a custom made miter box I designed and built. It's very important that the kerf be accurate. In order for the fret tangs to bite properly in the wood, the saw needs to cut a true .022 slot, and this one does just that.
There are more expensive saws out there. I even own a few, and while they may be prettier, they don't perform any better. And do we buy a saw to be pretty... or to get the job done? If you are looking for a high finish on the blade, or a bright polish to the handle, you might want to take a pass on this saw. But if your goal is to make the dollars you spend on them work as hard as your tools do, you might want to skip the boutique fret saws out there, and put this little saw in your box.
