Amtrak Superliner 4-Car Set B - Ready to Run

Delivery of the original Superliner 1 cars began in 1979 with the first cars operating on short runs originating in Seattle and Chicago. As more cars arrived, entire Superliner trainsets replaced trains on existing Western routes. The height of a Superliner generally precludes its operating in the Northeast because of tunnel clearance concerns. The Phase IVb is the current operating paint scheme for Amtrak passenger equipment, removing the "SUPERLINER" lettering from the sides of the cars and featuring the new Amtrak logo on the sides of the car.

"Unmatched quality and supurb details"

The 4 car set is a must have for any collector. These cars are lengthy, measuring in at around 6.5 or 16 cm long, so make sure your layout has the proper radius track for these cars. I run mine on 22.5 and 21 radius curves and it looks nice. These might not work on a smaller layout, as the tighter the curve the more unrealistic the cars look and may cause uncoupling, derailing, etc. The undersides of cars themselves run very close to the rails, and have nicely detailed trucks, adding to the realism. The couplers are mounted to the trucks, no the body. The couplers are the magne-matic type, and they are the best for realism. If your current set up does not use those style of couplers, you'll need to purchase some coupler replacement parts, which I am sure Hobbylinc sells. The wheel sets run fine on smaller rail, such as the code 55 I run mine on, and roll so smoothly it's like the train is pulling no weight at all. These are pricey cars, but remember you get what you pay for, and these are a great buy.
