Hadrosaurus/Corythosaurus

This is a great, simple kit with excellent details and a very appealing design that experienced model kit builders may remember from their childhoods. It was originally designed and tooled-up in the late 1960s by Pyro, and later released through the 1970s by Life Like, and could be found cast in numerous bizarre colors like purple and metallic pink. Lindberg has owned this classic kit since the late 1980s and continues make it in America to release it for kids and collectors. This friendly dinosaur has only a dozen parts, and is currently cast in primer-grey and should make for a quick, easy build for a young modeler, but also a good opportunity for an experienced kit builder. The realistic textures on the body - which are actually designed after fossilized skin impression from the actual dinosaur - lend themselves well to shading washes, and the fit of the parts is clean so a careful modeler may be able to get away with not using much - or any - filler. The box photography really doesn't do the kit justice!
