"Neat easy kit to build."
mike
This particular kit of the P-47 is a pretty easy build considering that the control surfaces are fixed and go together pretty well, so this kit does not have as many options as some other ones out there, but it is a nice build still. For example on this particular model the canopy is one solid piece, so if you wanted to have it open, you would have to cut the glass canopy to make it into two pieces, that is a bit of a draw-back. For the price though, it has very good detailing on par with more complicated kits but note that it does not have modeled landing gear bays, instead the place where they would be is as the wings would appear with the landing gear in the up position. The cockpit space is lacking in overall detail, but does have a pilot to fit into a seat within the cockpit space, so it makes up for that fact by having him to take up that space. In my build of this particular kit it did take some effort to get the landing gear assembly into position and properly aligned in order to permit the bomb placed under the fuselage to be present without causing issues with the aircraft sitting on a flat surface. Bear in mind that if you wish to have the center bomb present you will have to exercise extreme care in positioning the landing gear if you should wish to have the landing gear in the down position. Overall for a simplistic model kit it was a pretty easy build with good detailing overall, especially for the price. If you are looking for extreme detail with bay doors, optional open/closed canopy, and different ordinance options this kit probably is not for you. If you want a kit that looks as pictured on this site with the missiles, bombs, and basic undercarriage detailing, this is a very good kit for a light project.

"good and inexpensive recommended for any young modeler"

this plane is SIMPLE TO DO! If you are really good at modeling then don't get this kit. highly recommended for any young modeler. there is very little cockpit detail. easy as pie to put to gather. The decals are kind of cheaply made the landing gear is easy to put to and it easy to and paint. oh yeah the instructions say to mount three bombs on the plane. don't its not right only put two.

"not bad at all"

very good for the price, I used for a painting experiment. Looked it up Its a N model, most if not all of which went to the pacific. they don't tell you. very strait forward, nice relaxing build

"Don't Expect Quality"

I bought this model in a set a year ago as a cheap alternative for the models I usually buy. I was shocked at the utter lack of quality, although I now laugh at my reaction! I mean, what did I expect for such an inexpensive price? The canopy cannot be positioned open. The only objects included for a cockpit are a pilot and chair, and its wings were molded to show already retracted landing gear. On the plus side, the plane had very good raised riveting on the body and wings and plenty of weapons. I would recommend this model to mainly beginners and children, but also to anyone practicing their painting skills or scratch building; and to anyone building ceiling dioramas - where the plane is perhaps flying in a group; and the attention is focused, not on the plane's detail, but on the group as a whole. This model is so inexpensive, one could do such a diorama. Just do not set this plane alone in a display case as it is. Oh, this airplane is molded in white plastic, so one should think about using a primer before painting if one doesn't want light showing through their finished model.
