Good base kit
Honestly, Moebius should have included larger tires as an option. The tires that are in the kit are 33 inch, to scale, which for this truck, with this much lift, look out of place, to be polite. I used larger tires in my build - 40 inch Ground Hawgs. I agree with other reviews that the base quality of this kit is superior to Ford trucks other USA based model companies provide. I had trouble with the fit of the windshield in the cab. Did not have that issue with the other 2 Moebius Ford truck kits that I built. The only other negative point was the decal sheet. Every decal had a white shadow which played havoc with the smaller decals. Here's a tip after building 3 similar Moebius Ford seventies pickups: Make sure the interior is fully seated into the cab, where the top of the door panels are flush with the bottom of the window openings. Otherwise the cab and bed alignment will be off when you glue them to the frame.
Great Modius Quality
This is another example of the great kits produced by Moebius. The parts go together without a fight. I especially liked the mounting points for the truck bed that made assembly of the 5 parts very easy and kept everything in square. I have heard some folks state that the truck bed was warped. Mine had no issues. The assembly of the chassis was equally easy. Since this is a lifted truck, I was initially concerned about the strength of the plastic to support it all. However, the mounting points for the front and real leaf springs are large and hold a lot of glue. The bottom line is that the assembled chassis is very sturdy. The chrome trim pieces for the side of the truck cab and bed makes a two-tone paint job a cinch. The directions are typical Moebius quality and the include a lot of information concerning period correct body colors. Overall, this kit was a fun build and makes for a great looking shelf display.
This is a BEAUTIFUL kit!
Where to start, wow, Moebius scored a TD & a 2 pointer with this one ! Beautifully cast with no flash that I've found yet & the parts actually line up! As far as I'm concerned these are far superior in quality & detail to other American model companies & we know who they are, & bearing down on mfgrs. like Tamiya really fast. I don't mind shelling out close to $35 for a kit of this quality, I can't wait for the late 40's Chevy's from Galaxie Ltd tooling... I think builders with intermediate skill levels on up would enjoy building this, I know I am, & I've been building 58-59 yrs (I'm 68).. If your into 4x4s ya gotta build this... There are 2 wd parts in the kit but why would you want to lol,Mercury PU hood badges on the tree too..
