"Put that finishing touch on your Jupiter 2!"
rkoenn (Brandon, FL)
The Moebius Jupiter 2 is a great kit which is typical of Moebius. I bought it shortly after it came out and then added the lighting kit. Building the kit and adding the lighting is a big job but if you want the best Jupiter 2 possible the lighting kit is a must, even at the cost. The great thing about it is that everything you need is included and considering the intricacy and the number of lights is very manageable to install. I used aluminum tape and CA glue to hold the LEDs and wire in place and organized the wiring with tie-wraps. When it is completed and the lights turned on it looks great, particularly in the dark. And also cool is the variable speed engine lighting circulating at the bottom of the Jupiter.

"Lighting Kit is certainly worth the money"

You may be looking at the cost of this lighting kit and wondering if it is worth it. Yes it is! I just received the lighting kit and hooked it up for testing. In the box were the four following items: Item #1: A 6 volt, 1 amp plug in power supply Item #2: Round fusion core disc with 24 warm white LED's and circuitry mounted on it. There is wiring to a small remote circuit board with 2 warm white LED's (denoted radar/scanner LEDs that mount art the top of the Jupiter 2). There is also wiring to a pushbutton switch. Item #3: Two terminal/resistor circuit boards wired to a common power jack and ON/OFF toggle switch. Each of the boards has wiring out to a total of 28 separate LED's of various colors (cool white, blue, amber, ect). Item #4: An 11 page full color installation guide. There are high quality photos throughout showing how to install the kit in the Jupiter II model (sold separately of course). The is a connector from the power jack that connects to the fusion core circuit board to provide power. All of the constant on LED's are fed from the two terminal/resistor boards (item #3) and are turned on/off by the toggle switch. The fusion core and radar/scanner LED's flash sequentially at various speed which are determined by how many times the pushbutton switch is depressed (3 different speeds as I recall). The flashing effect of these LED's is really neat and I am looking forward to installing the kit in the model when it arrives. The quality of the kit is excellent.
